(TRANSLATED FROM SPANISH) Crescencio Morales, March 17, 2004 Lic. Ramon Ponce Ponce Regional Attorney General Zitacuaro Michoacan
The undersigned, Alejo Claudio Cayetano and Idilberto Gonzalez Claudio, Chief and President of Common Property in Crescencio Morales, Zitacuaro Michoacan, address the attorney’s office to report that our claims regarding excessive logging have been ignored to this date. As a result, the people in general have decided to exploit forest resources that former authorities protected by making a lot of sacrifices.
By not having support from the relevant authorities, this has gone out of control. We will not be held responsible of resulting events in our community related to the massive exploitation of our forests.
Without further comment and looking forward to your support, kind regards.
Sincerely
Alejo Claudio Cayetano Chief
Idilberto Gonzalez Claudio Common Property President
