We are writing to ask that you investigate the construction of a road that is being built without authorization from the council inside our community’s land. The road starts in Lomas de Aparicio and ends in Lindero. Second block in Crescencio Morales. This was done by approximately 20 individuals lead by Juan Diego Mondragón Gomez, who calls himself commissioner from ejido Crescencio Morales, Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, area we are currently protecting because it is one of the few areas were we get water for the community. Today, November 4th, a group of about 79 landowners went up to stop said machine from working and got involved in a discussion were they stated that the forest will be cut and that we should oppose. We were also threatened by Raymundo Alvarez Gomez, who said that whomever tries to stop him will see the consequences and he will not be held responsible. The undersigned hold Florencio Alvarez, Wenceslao “el bigotes”, and others from Dieta, Macho de agua, and Cumbre, responsible for illegal logging. Making fun of us they asked us to go by the next day and see the finished road because they were going to start to go up.
We ask the corresponding authorities to support us with the military or police, so they come to the area and avoid a confrontation with this group that insists on destroying our forests.
We ask for support from authorities to destroy or block this road.

Sincerely,

The Crescencio Morales community, comprised of 6,000 landowners and a total of 8,000 inhabitants.
